Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule an appointment?
You may call the office to schedule an appointment.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! We have been credentialed to work with nearly all major insurance plans and will keep this section updated. Currently we have been credentialed with Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Community Health Options, Harvard Pilgrim, Humana, MaineCare, Martin’s Point, Medicare, United, Wellcare. Self-pay is also welcome. At this time, TriCare isn’t accepting new providers into their network but I’ll keep trying. If you have a different insurance, please still give us a ring and we’ll look into it.
Do you have night or weekend access?
We are available for appointments during business hours of M-F, 7-5pm. If you have an urgent need outside of those hours, you will be able to reach us directly (not an answering service) to help decide if you need to go into the Emergency Room or if we can get you through until the next business day.
Dr. Heise, did you say you have a PhD in Neuroscience?
In truth, I found Medicine by way of Neuroscience. I wanted to learn how the nervous system related to the body, so I applied to dual degree programs of medical school concurrent with graduate school in Neuroscience. Along the way I fell in love with Medicine. My heroes were the Family doctors — they could take care of anyone at at any age, with any disease. My research was on one genetic mutation that led to a constellation of features including disrupted neural development. We have one, whole, body. One small change can have a cascade of profound impacts. Let’s find a healthy small step for you, a small change for the better which you can make.
